"Nice place overall – blow-up mattresses generously provided"

Overall this is a cheery, very well equipped, clean and nicely updated cabin that in my opinion is particularly a good place for a couple to stay in! There is 1 traditional queen bed in the bedroom with a very comfortable mattress and bed linens - lovely! In the living room, there is a sofa bed, which guests do NOT use. However, in the bedroom closet guests are generously provided with 2 twin-size, blow-up inflatable mattresses and a pump to blow up the mattresses. These are allowed to be set up by guests on the living room floor. In my experience kids do find it delightful to blow up these mattresses and make the bed with the linens provided. It’s just good to know that the two twin beds indicated are not IMMEDIATELY ready to sleep in upon arrival/are not pre-inflated. No big deal! but good to know! Another good thing to know is there is a wall heater with a strong blower in the living room, and in the bedroom there is a stand-alone heater that cycles on and off throughout the night. It heats up the room well. Overall a comfortable stay, especially for a couple.

We wanted to take the kids to play in the snow for the first time, and Big Bear was new to us all. The property was in good proximity to the village, which had cute shops and restaurants. It was clean and comfortable and even had a bed in the loft which was a nice bonus we didn’t expect. It was the perfect size for a family of four with young kids. The owners left toiletries and tissues and other things around to make us feel at home. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Das Charbonnhaus this past weekend! The little cozy cabin was well equipped with a full kitchen, fireplace, TV with Neftflix, comfy couch and bed. We also enjoyed all the thoughtful touches that the host provided- including games, coloring books, and directions for how to use stuff around the house ( fireplace, tv, etc). Unfortunately, the weather forecasters missed the forecast- rain instead of snow, but luckily we enjoyed being "rained in" in this cozy cabin! Definitely recommend. Easy booking and communication as well.

"Wonderfully clean & cozy cabin!"

Our family of 3 (plus furry friend) thoroughly enjoyed our long snow weekend at this lovely cabin! It was incredibly clean & decorated with great care! The bed was super comfortable and the cabin provided everything we needed!! It is located adjacent to the Convention Center, a couple of miles from the Village and the both Ski Resorts, but not necessarily within walking distance to anything we found desirable. We had a wonderful stay & would definitely stay again!

Stayed here with my family for a couple days between Christmas and New Year. Cabin was beautiful, in a very convenient location near the ski resorts. Also dog friendly, which was a big plus!! I recommend this cabin and would stay here again.

"The Perfect Big Bear Cabin Experience"

From the moment my puppy and I entered the cabin, we were greeted with warmth. Within seconds our eyes were drawn to meticulously crafted woodwork and mountain inspired decor. The entire property was meticulously maintained and the customer service was unparalleled. This cabin is located on a peaceful road, but just a few minutes from downtown and the trailheads. Our weekend was an absolute blast, so many breathtaking hikes around the lake, wonderful meals in town... even walked part of the Pacific Crest Trail! If you're looking for an inviting place to stay in Big Bear, I highly recommend coming to this cabin.

Close to town and pet friendly. Some remodeling has been done on the inside which gives it a more updated look. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom although there is no dishwasher (if that's important to you).

"What a gem!"

What a gem! Das Charbonnhaus, set up to accommodate both our 1 y.o. and dog, provided a fun getaway for the whole family! The cabin was just as advertised-extremely clean and well equipped. There are several local restaurants within walking distance. We had a fantastic time at the 48th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest (2 blocks away!!) Property has fenced in back patio perfect for the dog. Great location for taking walks with dogs/strollers. TV/Netflix offers a nice option for an evening in. Highly recommend as a weekend getaway.

"Sweet and Cozy"

Our family had such a fun and relaxing time over the fourth of July! Our two small kids and dog enjoyed the front porch, as we enjoyed some cold drinks and the views. We also enjoyed the backyard for a little bbq. And, to our surprise, we had a great view of the fireworks from the convention center a few blocks away. Afterwards, instead of having to be in traffic, we simply walked back to the cabin and enjoyed the rest of our night with a movie. I hope to go again and would definitely recommend to friends!

Very clean and comfortable. Newly decorated in a cozy rustic style. Kitchen was well stocked. Bed was very comfortable. Fenced yard was great for children and pets. The flat screen TV and free Wifi were much appreciated. Nice area for grilling/picnic in the back . Walking distance to restaurants. Close to area festivals. Will definitely stay here again. This home would be great for couples or small families.
