Alpine Lake Cabin

Enjoyed our stay, cabin was clean and the setting was awesome with the big lake view in front and mountain in the back.

We loved this cabin overlooking Big Bear lake. The view was the best part for sure! The place was very clean, and though it is cold outside this time of year, the cabin has plenty of heaters and blankets. The lack of wifi / internet access was kind of buried in the listing so take note (we thought we read the listing thoroughly but somehow we missed that!) and the cell service isn’t great either, so if you need to do work or any video calls, this is a place best suited to someone who plans to completely unplug. Fortunately we downloaded a bunch of movies before we came to the cabin, since we could not stream any movies (there aren’t many playable DVDs.) The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils, but there was no cooking oil or salt and not much coffee, and the nearest grocery store is about 30 minutes away (there are some small markets and liquor stores about 10 mins away). So plan accordingly! Other than that the place was lovely, we really enjoyed using the fireplace and walking to a nearby fishing area. Would stay here again!

This is a great location with a stunning view of the lake. The best part of the house is a huge balcony looking onto the lake. Extremely clean and the host was very responsive. FYI - Apple Maps tells you it’s on the opposite side of the road.

This cabin is about a 15 minute drive from Big Bear City. Myself, my husband, and two kids stayed for 3 nights. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we may have needed plus more! They even set out makeup wipes in the restroom (a small detail but shows how much effort is put into making their guests comfortable). There is a very short walk to North Shore Landing where we rented a boat and spent some time on the lake. It was also very convenient to be so close to shore. We could walk out with all of our chairs and snacks and fish off the shore until we were ready to go enjoy the night in Big Bear City. The only thing I suggested was to invest in an air purifier. My daughter has dust allergies that set off her asthma and she had to use her inhaler everyday. Other than that, we absolutely loved it and would stay here again.

This is an absolutely gem of a cabin. For a true cabin feel in big bear, STAY HERE. everything is clean, well thought out, tiny details thought of. The view is STUNNING. Woke up to catch the sunrise both mornings, saw a juvenile bald eagle gliding over the lake. Beautiful views of the night stars. The deck is the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or tea. Close enough to everything to not feel like it’s a journey, far enough to be able to enjoy the serene peacefulness of Big Bear Lake. WILL be staying here again!

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay at this property! The view from the deck is absolutely beautiful and serene. I woke up every morning early to see the sunrise over the water. I would suggest since the view is by far this property's biggest assett, that they invest in some decent deck furniture. There were only white plastic chairs on the deck to sit on. In my opinion this would greatly add to people's enjoyment of this rental. The two bedrooms had very comfortable beds. The bed off from the living space, however was uncomfortable. We also had an issue with the water pressure being very low...HOWEVER, the shower pressure was good. The kitchen and bathroom sinks and toilet have very low water pressure. I would most definitely stay here again! It was very cozy...and the view and serenity of the location alone would make me want to return! Thanks for a great stay!

This property is exactly what is listed and more. You go there to stay with a view and it helps that everything is within 15mins drive. It’s comfortable and fully equipped. The small touches of leaving out toiletries, kids’ milk chocolate and such were endearing. We appreciated and enjoy our stay.

Everything was perfect for a quick weekend trip to the mountain. The cabin is conveniently located close to main snow/ski attractions, with a beautiful view of the lake and all you can need for a cozy stay. Blankets and heaters were provided for the perfect final touch.

The cabin is in a perfect location with very good views of the lake. It is old and out dated but it’s very clean and detailed. Everything is there for our stay. Although there’s no AC,, the owner provided a lot of fans throughout the house. We stayed during the heat wave and it wasn’t too bad for us. My only complaint is the refrigerator takes a long time to get cool. Had my water bottles in there and it took all night to get cold. Also there’s a water issue with the city. The water was limited after 10pm and into the next day. It didn’t bother us because we checked out the next day. Overall we liked our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Our second visit, my family of four loves staying here to unplug and enjoy everything on the lake. This time we rented waverunners from the marina across the road and the teens absolutely loved it. We noticed and appreciated the extra charging ports and fans this year. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We were a group of 4 adults and stayed at the cabin for two nights. Everything was perfect. The cabin was so clean and all that we needed were already provided. The lake view was amazing! Strongly recommend it to those who want to relax and enjoy the beautiful Big Bear Lake!

Cabin is set perfectly off the lake amongst the trees. Sunrises are amazing as the sun comes over the hills. We had slight COVID cleaning to do as door handles & light switches were a little dirty, but overall a quaint cabin with everything you need. Just be sure to leave bedroom doors open as there is no heat in the bedrooms.....

Location and lake view is great. The size is perfect for a family. The furniture upholstery in living room seemed little worn out.

Everything was as expected. Adding a lift/ pulley system to get heavy items up is the only thing I would suggest.

We stayed here in August (2020) and overall we were very happy with our stay. Here are the pros and cons of this rental: PROS: 1. Perfect location - on the quieter side of the lake, but still close to everything. Swim access is just footsteps away 2. Beautiful view from the deck which is where we spent the majority of our time. 3. Super responsive and kind host - Whenever we had a question, the host quickly and helpfully replied. 4. Clean and cute home where we felt we could really relax. 5. Nice BBQ for grilling out 6. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with supplies CONS: 1. No Air Conditioning - During the summer, it's hot in Big Bear (even for a California girl) and it was tough not having the A/C to cool down the house. At night we opened up every window and door and put 3 fans on us just so we could sleep. Even a window A/C unit would really help cool down the space. 2. No wi-fi - This could also be put in the "pros" if you are looking to unplug and get away from all technology. But at the same time, it's nice to have wi-fi access to research local activities and restaurants etc in the area when you want to. 3. There was no open kitchen cabinet space to put our groceries. Most of the cabinets were locked which meant that we had to leave all of our dry goods out on the counters for our stay. It would have been nice just to have one empty cabinet to store all of our ingredients. 4. The water flow from the shower was really low In short, it's hard to say anything negative about our stay, but I also want future guests to know there are a few shortcomings of this place. Without A/C I don't think we would stay here again for a summer vacation. However, if they do put in air conditioning, we'd happily book this home again.

For my husband and I, this cabin feels like stepping back into our childhood homes. Everything is so carefully maintained and curated, from the lamps and fixtures to the flatware and wallpaper, all in perfect condition. The kitchen has everything we expected- we cooked all meals there for four days. The views of the lake are exquisite, as the pictures show. On July 4th, the road was very busy, but it never bothered us, and was pretty deserted at night. It’s a great location if you plan to spend your time on the water and fishing. We brought a kayak and there is a public access area about 100 yards down the road (directly across the road are private docks). The North Shore Landing has boat rentals next to the private docks. My son loved exploring the forest in the back yard and spotted deer grazing in the morning. No WiFi was a blessing. We would love to stay here again.

We stayed at this cute little cabin for a weekend getaway. We were sent a text message with how to enter the cabin the day of our arrival. It was clean and easy to access. Make sure that you bring all food and cooking supplies you will need. They cannot leave anything extra due to COVID rules. The lake view was amazing and we enjoyed our stay. There is no WiFi, which I did not notice when reading the details. I would recommend this cabin for others.

Great view. Comfortable furnishings. We do a lot of short term rental. We were quite surprised that there were no basic condiments provided - like pepper and salt. Also no information about local recreational opportunities. Otherwise are stay was terrific.

Expensive but worth it good location

Amazing weekend waking up with a great view of Big Bear Lake and away from the crowd and noise of the main town. Cabin feel experience. Clean and Cozy set at the foot of the mountain facing Big Bear Lake and only minutes away to town and ski resorts We definitely recommend

Liked the cabin a lot especially the fireplace but to big of an incline and stairs from the road in 2 feet of snow. It was inconvenient to be on the North shore especially with the huge snow storm. Albeit we loved the snow!!!

The place is very cozy and nice - has everything, except internet! But for me the internet was not such a huge problem, because I wanted to escape from it. The view is great and it was quiet location. The media was very old - they have video player and cassette player - my daughter had fun to see such stuff for first time :).

This is a cute cabin with great views of the lake....there are a few little things that could make the cabin better. While guest probably need some kitchen equipment, the stuff in the drawers could probably be edited to make things simpler. The air freshener left in the cabin was overwhelming and unnecessary if all is clean. Could remove the plastic from the lamp shade...little things that make a difference. Also, I wasn't aware that the (fast!) traffic on the road was so close...

Great stay

The cabin was exactly how it was described. It was very homey, nicely decorated, and an amazing view of the lake. A nice touch with the tea and chocolates. We would definitely stay at this cabin again.

Exactly what was described/pictured and what I expected - a cute, clean, cozy house/cabin in Big Bear for myself, my husband and two teens! We will be back:)

Just a suggestion; Landscaping in the front of the cabin could’ve been touched up. Also, sliding glass doors are hard to pull and screen to sliding glass door in the front of the cabin does not slide easy. Everything else was good.

Even cuter than the pictures, our cabin was truly the little “Home away” from hone we hoped for!

Stayed here during a rare snowy Memorial Day weekend and it was perfect. Never wanted to leave!

The area is quite and the cabin has agreat view of the lake in front and amazing view of the mountain in the back. It’s close to the main attractions around the lake but not in the busy area. We would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stayed in this little cabin, the view is amazing and they have everything we may need to cook and to make your stay fun. We will definitely go back and stay there again. Thank you

This cabin was spacious with a fireplace, floor heater and full stock kitchen great for families. The only downside was that the bedrooms didn't have a heater vent in them so they got really cold. The patio bedroom was freezing so we slept in living room instead. The cabin was also outdated but that's more of a cosmetic issue- it could use a remodel. The morning lake view was awsome !

This is an older cabin, though well maintained. There's no wifi, which was a little tough on my internet-addled kids, but otherwise this was great.

We are a family of four and it was great place for the kids to play. Great service from the scheduling staff. There is a refrigerated, stove/over, coffee maker and toaster. There is also a heater in the floor in the kitchen. Great memories! The rules were pretty strict but it was great place.

We've come to this cabin a few times and frankly for a lake front view, this a great value. As accommodations go, it's certainly basic, but that's part of the overall rustic charm, and the management company keeps it clean and well maintained.

But once you walk out onto the deck and see the near-panoramic view of the lake, you realize just what a great value it is. It's also unobstructed overhead, so the night time stargazing is phenomenal as well. Just kick back on the deck chairs and look up to see the beauty of the heavens.

The big fireplace at the living room was excellent for our evenings.
Very quiet area houses are apart.
Walk to snow hill or short drive to summit.
We are not going to look further we are coming back here again.

The only thing we liked about this property was the view. This is an old house with only the second floor being used by guests. Most of the cabinets in the kitchen were locked and utensils were really outdated. The coffe table was barely standing so we tried to stay away from it. The house was clean, but the furniture, including the beds, have seen better days. I would not recommend this house if you can afford paying more.
