East of Paradise

The cabin is fantastic, you will love it more in person. The kitchen is fully stocked, there are games and books, the backyard was perfect for the grille and jacuzzi. There were 4 of us, we fit perfect. The only downfall was the one car parking only. We will stay here again!

This home is so cute and cozy. After a crazy drive from San Diego on a Friday evening we were welcomed by a warm house, that had the lights on waiting for us. The house has everything you will need for a great weekend.

Cozy place. Two bedroom but home may be a little small for 4 people. Perfect for two or three though. Great yard for the dogs and hot tub was perfect (great for two, maybe 3 people.) clean, beds were comfortable. Internet was a bit spotty though (would lose signal or it would stall for a few minutes every so often). Maybe a 10 minute drive to snow summit…excellent location if you want to stay outside of Big Bear Lake but close to Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. Would stay here again.

Beautiful home nice and warm. Would rent again. Just the jacuzzi was dirty. would be nice if the other room would have a Tv.

Great house and location.

We were a group of 2 couples and had a lovely 2-night stay. You definitely need to be close to your housemates at this place as the quarters are quite cozy and there's only 1 bathroom, but it was fine for our group and it was a beautiful stay. The accommodations are very nice and beds are comfortable. The cabin is very nicely decorated as many reviews indicated, with many welcomed upgrades, and we agree with many others that both the bbq and hot tub were key (especially after our day of skiing and snowboarding!). We found everything we needed to prepare a great meal, enjoyed the hot tub outside and wood fire inside, and overall had a wonderful time. The distance to the village was easy so don't let that factor deter you, also there is shopping closer by than the village. The property management company, Grizzly Vacation rentals, is also top notch - super nice, responsive and helpful. We would for sure stay at this property again (assuming they'll have us 🙂 and the price stays right(!)), and we would also for sure be happy to work with Grizzly Vacation Rentals again. Thank you again so much to the owners and to Grizzly for making this property available and so warm and welcoming!

Great location and cabin!

I had no idea how amazing this cabin really was until my actual stay. The furniture was well organized and super comfortable. The decorations were very nice in every room (both inside and outside), and anything we needed was immediately available. The highlights two-night stay were building puzzles on the kitchen counter and hopping in the jacuzzi (note: Cesar went above and beyond to ensure that we would be able to enjoy this despite unexpected equipment issues). Von's was minutes away to grab a few snacks and essentials; Captain John's kayak rentals was a short-drive away and very friendly; there's tons to do nearby and we wished we had more time to check out more of the local spots.

Given the superb customer service, amazing cabin setup, and awesome getaway location, I would highly recommend this cabin!

Stayed here for 2 nights and we loved it! Perfect lil backyard with a nice jacuzzi and bbq grill. Loved all the board games they have there too, and the kitchen was very nice! Would for sure stay here again!

This place is so comfy and cozy! The front porch and back patio were very relaxing, but the interior was even more relaxing. So very nicely decorated, perfect for its surroundings.

My husband, son, and small dog, and I had such a wonderful time here! The home was immaculately clean and was stocked with anything you could ever need for a perfect stay. We BBQ'd every night and enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the lake. The location is great if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of the Village. So nice and quiet, but an easy short drive to restaurants, supermarkets and the lake. We will definitely love to stay here again!!!

My wife and I had an excellent experience. Regarding customer service, Cesar provided us with very courteous treatment and was very responsive to our request. The cabin itself was gorgeous and it was made perfectly clear that it was thoughtfully and intricately designed for comfort, ease, and enjoyment. My wife and I will absolutely be back again.

If you wish to experience the quaint cabin feel combined with all the modern comforts, then this is your place. The owners made numerous upgrades to this property to ensure a relaxing & enjoyable trip to Big Bear. Both bedrooms are cozy with lots of linen and extra storage. The renovated bathroom is A+ and the fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances is a major bonus. The selection of books and DVDs are plentiful while you enjoy the wood burning stove during those chilly winter nights. From the spacious patio out front, to the well maintained fully fenced backyard, there's plenty of outdoor seating to truly embrace mother nature. The outdoor grill, mini playhouse & of course the gazebo hot tub are just icing on the cake. This East of Paradise cabin just a few miles from downtown is truly a hidden gem. We'll definitely return.

Pros: Our stay was absolutely perfect!! The East of Paradise cabin was everything we wanted, expected, and hoped for. Fully stocked with kitchen items/ appliances, tons of DVDs, and board games. It made for the perfect setting for our first Christmas as husband and wife! My 13 year old daughter was with us and loved it so much, as well. The jacuzzi was EVERYTHING! Just what we needed to warm our bones each night before heading to bed. Small cons: Everything was super clean, except for the wood flooring. It was swept, but when you wipe it with a cloth you pick up dirt. We never wore our shoes indoors either, yet our socks were getting dirty from the floors. We couldn't find any trash bags to replace the kitchen bin after taking out the trash halfway through our stay. We had to use grocery bags from Vons. Not a big deal, just inconvenient. Beds were a little too firm for our preference, but we spoil ourselves with memory foam bed toppers at home. So maybe that's just us. Towels were nice and plush but they left white fuzzy lent on everything they touched. EVERTHING! All in all, we will be back for another stay for sure!

Rental is very clean and fully stocked, we loved the extra towels! The back yard is very private, and the Jacuzzi was great after a day out. This is the perfect rental if you want to get away from the big city stress. We will definitely return.

First off, I was hesitant to rent this cabin because of the location and distance from the Village. After seeing the pictures, I chose to pick this one anyways. Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised of how clean and nice this cabin was. The interior was beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. Don't even worry about the fact it is four miles from the Village, this is the place to stay. They even provide you a goody basket with cookies and snacks. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Also there are plenty of books and DVDs to choose from. We were very satisfied with our stay.
